Inspections & Cleanings
Bring peace of mind to your healthPreventative
maintenance is always more cost-effective than making repairs that could have been avoided. Annual inspections are critical
for regularly used chimneys. Even if used occasionally, a chimney system should be routinely inspected and cleaned,
if necessary.
The importance of regular chimney maintenance is emphasized by the National Fire Protection Association.
This nonprofit organization, dedicated solely to fire prevention states: “Chimneys, fireplaces and vents shall
be inspected at least once a year for soundness, freedom of deposits, and correct clearances. Cleaning, maintenance,
and repairs shall be done if necessary.”
Benefits of routine chimney inspections and maintenance:
- Assure
chimney integrity for all fuels: oil, gas wood or coal
- Catch problems before they cause expensive repairs
- Monitor
changes over time---- like seeing a dentist regularly
- Protect your home investment
- Increase the safety and
performance of your heating appliance
- Provide peace of mind for your family

Chimney ReliningInstallation of stainless steel liners continues to increase as a result
of heating appliance manufacturers and the NFPA recognizing damages caused to chimneys from condensation. Properly sizing
the chimney, to overcome the decreased flue temperatures, will increase draft and the overall performance and efficiency.
Homeowners are often unaware of the NFPA venting requirements involved with the replacement or upgrade of a heating appliance.
Heating contractors that do not follow these codes may be held liable for damages caused to chimneys. Chimney relining
can repair damage or upgrade a poorly built chimney without tearing it down and starting over. Since the majority of
chimney damage involves cracked interior tiles, it is sometimes most cost-effective to replace the damaged tiles, if accessible.
When replacing tiles is not feasible, the best solution in most situations is to insert an aluminum or stainless
steel flue liner.
This procedure offers several important advantages: (1) rapid return to service; (2) the
warranties offered by manufacturers; and (3) UL safety standards are met or exceeded.
Chimney
Caps & CrownsProtecting and securing the top of your chimney. The top of your chimney is constantly
exposed to extreme weather and potential hazards: water penetration, access by birds and animals, and debris.
A stainless steel chimney cap and properly constructed chimney crown help prevent these frustrating and dangerous problems.
In addition, a specifically formulated waterproofing agent, Chimney Saver®, professionally applied to the chimney’s
outer surface, provides a ten year warranty protection against water damage.

pleasant to meet. For that we are grateful.”
